The stone top: Wipe with a soft damp cloth and warm water, then dry to avoid water spotting. Sintered stone is non-porous, so spills sit on the surface — wipe them up when you can. For anything stubborn, use a pH-neutral cleaner and a non-abrasive cloth. No sealing or polishing is required.

Avoid on the top: Abrasive pads, scouring powders, and bleach-based or acidic cleaners. Do not set very hot items directly on the surface.

The carcass and drawer fronts: Dust with a dry cloth, or wipe with a barely damp one and dry straight away. Do not soak, and wipe up standing liquid promptly.

The drawers: Keep the runners clear of dust. Do not overload a single drawer with heavy items at one end.

Placement: Keep out of long direct sunlight and away from heat vents, which can fade a wood finish over time.

Sintered stone is made to read like quarried stone, so tone and veining vary from piece to piece. Wood finish can also read slightly warmer or cooler in your room than it does on screen.

Long, low, and finally wide enough

Most TV stands are built for the television people had ten years ago. The Grove runs 78.5 inches — room for a 75-inch screen with the feet actually on the wood, plus the speaker, plus the thing you have not found a home for yet. At 14.5 inches high it keeps the screen at seated eye level instead of somewhere above it.

A stone top on a media unit, which sounds odd until you own one

This is the surface that collects wet glasses, remote controls and a plant that is slightly overwatered. Sintered stone is non-porous, so none of that leaves a mark. It also means the top does not scratch when the console gets dragged across it during a rearrange.

Solid pine drawers in an MDF carcass, with the walnut finish running across the front so the whole thing reads as one long line. Drawers hide cables, controllers and batteries in a way that open shelving never has.

Why we called it the Grove

A grove is a long low line of trees that makes a room out of open ground. That is this piece's job on a blank wall. It also has a matching coffee table in the same walnut and the same stone, if you want the whole wall to agree with the middle of the room.
