The seat pad: A damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then wipe the soap off and dry. No solvents, alcohol wipes or bleach on faux leather.

The wood: Dust dry, or wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away.

After a month: Re-tighten the leg bolts once. A light chair gets moved more, and a chair that gets moved loosens sooner.

Avoid: Tipping back onto the rear legs — a bentwood hoop is strong in the direction it was bent and weaker across it.

Solid rubberwood, wipe-clean pad

The frame is real wood rather than tube, so it can be sanded and refinished years from now. The seat is a faux leather pad, which means the one surface that gets dirty is the one surface that takes a damp cloth. The honest limit: a hoop back gives you support, not lounging.
