A backless stool is fine for ten minutes. This one has a curved crest rail across the shoulders, so the counter becomes somewhere you can genuinely sit — through a conversation, a coffee, or the whole time somebody else is cooking.

The footrest goes round three sides

Not one bar at the front. Stretchers on three sides mean your feet land somewhere comfortable whichever way you turn on the seat. It is the detail that separates a stool people use from a stool that stands there looking right and never gets sat on.

Solid rubberwood, arrives assembled

At 41 inches tall on four legs, a bar stool is the piece of furniture most punished by a joint that was never pulled up tight. This one comes out of the carton built, so nothing structural depends on your allen key. The seat is a faux leather pad — the one surface that gets dirty is the one that takes a damp cloth.

Measure your counter before you order

The factory gives us the overall height — 41.25 inches to the top of the crest rail — but not the seat height, and seat height is the number that decides whether a stool actually fits. We have asked for it rather than guess, because a stool at the wrong height is a return plus freight both ways. The rule of thumb: you want 10 to 12 inches of clear space between the seat and the underside of your counter. Measure that gap, and we will publish the seat height here as soon as the factory confirms it.
