Nothing under the table but legs

No stretcher bar, no apron dropping down to bark your shins, no centre pedestal to straddle. Six chairs go around a 63-inch top and everybody gets their knees where they want them. It sounds like a small thing until you have eaten a long dinner at a table that does not do it.

The legs are the design

They are not turned posts. Each one is sculpted — wider where it meets the frame, tapering as it drops, splayed out slightly so the table stands like it means it. In walnut that curve catches light along one edge and goes dark along the other, which is most of why this table reads more expensive than it is.

Solid frame, veneer top, and that is deliberate

The structure is solid rubberwood, so the joints have real timber to bite into. The top is ash veneer, which is what keeps a 63-inch surface flat in Hawaii humidity — a wide solid-wood top in this climate moves, and a top that moves is a top that cups. We would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

Seats six, fits a room that seats four

63 by 31.5 inches is the size where six people are comfortable and the table still clears a normal dining wall. Standard 29.5-inch height, so any dining chair will sit under it. The Moana shares its walnut finish, which is the easiest match; the Nalu keeps things lighter, and the Kaimana lets the wood do the talking.
