The top: Vacuum with the upholstery head. Blot spills immediately, do not rub. Because it lives at foot height it will pick up more than a chair does — a quick vacuum every couple of weeks is the whole maintenance routine.

The wood: Dust dry, or wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away.

Avoid: Standing on it to reach a shelf. It is built to be sat on, not climbed.

Solid rubberwood, four real legs

Not a hollow box with a padded lid. A jointed wood frame on four tapered legs, which is why it will take a grown adult sitting on it rather than only resting on it. Ships flat and goes together with the legs bolting straight into the frame.

Buy it with the chair, or do not

The Manoa Armchair is sold on its own so you are not forced into a pair you did not want. If you are buying both, buy them together — wood and fabric are dyed in batches, and two pieces from the same shipment will match more closely than two bought months apart.
