To clean: Vacuum in short, overlapping strokes, using the crevice nozzle around the seams and under the cushions.

Treating stains: Blot spills straight away with a clean dry cloth, then use a water-based upholstery cleaner and blot with a microfibre cloth. Do not scrub.

The covers come off: Unzip and wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent. Zip the cover closed before it goes in the machine. Line dry, and put it back on while it is still slightly damp for the best fit.

To maintain: Turn and plump the cushions weekly, and keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.

Nearly 90 inches of doing nothing

One long bench cushion, two generous back cushions, and a slipcover that relaxes slightly at the floor. It is the sofa equivalent of an untucked shirt: deliberately easy, and harder to pull off than it looks.

Feather blend, not foam brick

50% feather and 50% fibre over a eucalyptus hardwood frame. It gives when you sit and fills back out when you do not. One long seat cushion means no seam down the middle to fall into.
